Plutonic Events – Life, Death & the Doorway to Change

Adversity is like a strong wind. It tears away from us all but the things that cannot be torn, so that we see ourselves as we really are. – Arthur Golden

Pluto Keywords: transformation, destruction, creation, regeneration, healing, renewal, power struggles, upheaval.

What is an example of a Plutonic Event? The death of a loved one, divorce, betrayal (such as infidelity in a marriage or close relationship,) accidents, dis-ease where a quick recovery does not occur, chronic pain, mental illness, war and acts of violence or terrorism.

The picture enclosed here is of the mysterious and fierce Mother Goddess Kali. She is associated with the destruction of evil, and also is a preserver and protector of life. It is no accident that this fierce aspect of the Divine Mother would be black or dark in color, to represent the darkness, the night, the great Void and cosmic unknowable. She is also associated with great beauty, bliss, the intoxicating energy of the eternal Shakti principle and unfathomable power. Plutonic events would definitely fall into her category especially when people, places and things can be swiftly moved out of our lives with lightning speed. It is in the loss of things that we truly love and cherish, life can be very mysterious and hard for us to comprehend.

My Mother is the principle of consciousness. She is Akhanda Satchidananda; indivisible Reality, Awareness, and Bliss. The night sky between the stars is perfectly black. The waters of the ocean depths are the same; The infinite is always mysteriously dark. This inebriating darkness is my beloved Kali. – Sri Ramakrishna

Johnny take a dive with your sister in the rain. Let her talk about the things you can’t explain. To touch is to heal. To hurt is to steal. If you want to kiss the sky, better learn how to kneel. On your knees boy. – Bono

What is the meaning of Pluto in Astrology?

In the birth chart, Pluto shows the area of life where you’ll personally face the intense powers of creation and destruction. It’s the doorway through which volatile compressed pockets of self, spirit and primal energy lies hidden, which are released either by our own efforts or by provocation from the outside world. Pluto’s energy will not be suppressed but its power is often feared. This can put you in a showdown between your greatest fears of being destroyed, and the pursuit of the deepest longing in your heart. The Ego holds to its defenses, but Pluto tries to urge you to let go, and surrender to become a new person.

Pluto rules Scorpio with its province being death and rebirth. There’s a Sufi saying, “Die many times before you die,” and Pluto’s lessons hold out promise of emerging from the flames a new person. When chaotic events shake us at the foundations, it could be Pluto provoking change at the fundamental level. We might not think we exist without the ground beneath us, our sense of who we are, but if we’re brave, we come to discover there is life after this kind of ego-death.

You can either be at the mercy of Pluto’s provocation to change, or you can take matters into your own hands. It can be humbling to look soberly at the area of life in which you feel powerless, worked over, dissed by the Universe — but by doing this, you can try to understand and alter your own reactions. You still might be brought to your knees, but while there you’ll rest assured that Pluto’s dark and punishing face is that of a tough, but loving teacher, leading you toward a more authentic experience of yourself. – Astrology.com

The Plutonic Event as a consciousness builder.

Difficulties bring with them many different opportunities for teachings. The “default programming” or path of least resistance is to go fully into anger, frustration, fear and hopelessness. While it is perfectly understandable and quite normal to feel those emotions, it is not helpful to dwell in them for extended periods, as this can be counter-productive to forward movement.

For some suggestions on how to navigate through difficult times, please visit my other post which serves as Part I on this topic: Pisces, Lent & Karma

It is your true nature to be a blessing-giver and to emanate Love. Attachments and illusions may create a temporary veil over consciousness as a barrier for the light of awareness to get through. Difficulties and/or situations that call for great service (Seva) to others and personal focus can serve to remove these personality impediments to allow the soul’s true nature to shine through, especially if they are navigated consciously. – The Keepers, 3.1.13

The Plutonic Event as Teaching & Purification.

I used to have a sign pinned up on my wall that read: Only to the extent that we expose ourselves over and over to annihilation can that which is indestructible be found in us…it was all about letting go of everything.

Most of us do not take these situations as teachings. We automatically hate them. We run like crazy. We use all kinds of ways to escape – all addictions stem from this moment when we meet our edge and we just can’t stand it. We feel we have to soften it, pad it with something, and we become addicted to whatever it is that seems to ease the pain. ― Pema Chödrön, When Things Fall Apart: Heartfelt Advice for Hard Times

So the ticket here as Pema so wonderfully lays out, is to stay present and not shut down or run away as much as possible. These kinds of experiences are often “hindsight is 20/20” moments, and we often cannot see where we are going exactly while they are happening, so hanging in and keeping the faith become among our own truly viable options. Also the knowledge that time does help in the healing of wounds especially pain of a traumatic nature; as some distance from the event itself, the support of family and friends along with therapeutic measures of your choice, can prove to be very helpful.

One of the positive ramifications and potential result of surviving a Plutonic event in one’s life, is to participate directly in a transformative and deeply personal process. It is a paring down, a simplification and returning to oneself in the most direct of terms. In many cases, this is nothing sort of a complete psychic, emotional and spiritual rebirth.

Q: Why do so many people take Plutonic teachings “out to the edge,” wherein they are looking at some kind of self-destruction or death as their only alternatives?

A: Beloveds, there are some that will walk a treacherous path that do not survive, and this has to do with their own individual soul agreement. For those that do, they are forever changed by the experience. There is really no way that they cannot be. It is always a choice whether you allow outer circumstances to define you, ultimately. The physical body can be scarred and the emotional body can also be temporarily, but the eternal aspect of a being cannot. The true power and deliverance from fearful situations of great intensity is aligning with the Divine Self, which is forever awake as the observer to all of life’s experiences. – The Keepers, 3.1.13

A Plutonic Blessing: Today I have faith in my own affirmations. I know that there is a Power flowing through me, taking form of my belief, acting upon my acceptance, answering my prayer, and fulfilling my affirmation. Therefore, I am calling upon myself for a deeper faith, a broader conviction, a higher acceptance, a more complete realization.

♥ I affirm that every good thing I do will prosper.

♥ Every person I meet will be blessed.

♥ Every situation I touch will be helped.

♥ Everywhere I go some subtle influence of LOVE and JOY and PEACE will diffuse itself as a glow from the eternal light of heaven within itself.

– Ernest Holmes ~ 365 Science of Mind

Plutonic Navigational Key: The world is like a ride at an amusement park, and when you choose to go on it, you think it’s real, because that’s how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round and it has thrills and chills and it’s very brightly colored and it’s very loud. And it’s fun, for a while.

Some people have been on the ride for a long time, and they begin to question: “Is this real? Or is this just a ride?” And other people have remembered, and they come back to us and they say “Hey! Don’t worry, don’t be afraid — ever — because…this is just a ride.”

“Shut him up! We have a lot invested in this ride! Shut him up! Look at my furrows of worry; look at my big bank account, and my family. This has to be real.” It’s just a ride. But we always kill those good guys who try and tell us that — ever notice that? — and we let the demons run amok. But it doesn’t matter, because…it’s just a ride, and we can change it any time we want. It’s only a choice. No effort. No worry. No job. No savings and money. Just a choice, right now, between fear and love. The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your door, buy bigger guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love, instead, see all of us as one.- Bill Hicks (1961-1994)

Well dear friends, it’s just a ride, and Love is Forever. Thank God/dess for that. Love to you all.
